I really love this place. I've been coming here for years and was originally introduced to it by my cousin.
It's in a shopping center behind the Westfield Culver City Mall and there's always plenty of parking. It's inexpensive, rarely busy, and super tasty. It's definitely not "classy or fancy" but if you're looking for a fast, easy sushi lunch or dinner, this is your spot.
There is limited seating inside but these summer days and nights have been really warm in LA so my family and I decided to eat outside. The staff is kind and friendly and bring the food to your table.
My husband is a big fan of the chicken teriyaki bento box and I love their sashimi and roll bento box. I prefer their California rolls over their spicy tuna rolls but their baked volcano scallops roll is my two year old's favorite.
We love coming here, and I definitely recommend. We usually walk it off with a trip next door to Marshall's. Very cute sushi spot. -

If you or anyone you know and love have food allergies, sensitivities, or restrictions steer clear of this place. My partner is allergic to dairy, beef, and pork. Usually sushi is safe. When we showed their allergy alert card the cashier went to ask the chef/manager. Great.
However when he got there he could have cared less. His response to the card (which just lists the ADA and their allergies) was "no". That isnt even a proper response. When we pressed for more info his face became annoyed and he ended with, "you're better off somewhere else".
If this is how you treat your customers and train your staff then even if you would have been safe, you aren't now. Stay clear and even if you aren't allergic or sensitive, maybe consider going elsewhere until they realize how terrible they've treated what would have been happy paying customers. If we were treated like that, we're not the first or the last.
Shame on you Sushi Bar by Sarku Japan. Shame. -

Omg my food was so nasty. I got the chicken teriyaki lunch special and it tasted like someone's shoe. The sushi was good although it was warm but dawg the teriyaki was just so .

This used to be our go-to sushi spot, but the quality has decreased by a lot. I usually get the baked mussels which is my favorite from this place. It is delicious! I have yet to find another place where they have good mussels. The basic rolls such as California and Spicy tuna rolls are good. You cannot mess those two up. I got the Hot Night Roll for the first time and it's not what I expected. The spicy tuna had a weird texture. The shrimp tempura was cooked properly (thank goodness)! Overall rating for the roll is alright. Is it something I'll get again? Probably not. My husband got the Poké bowl which had raw fish, lettuce, rice, and tons of sriracha. It took away the flavor from everything else. They started charging 50 cents for the miso soup bowl. The miso soup here is really good. One of my favorites from this place.

Decent place for a quick bite. Fresh food and good ambience. We ordered several rolls, unfortunately, I didn't feel like the food was fresh. I don't think I will be coming back here again.
